AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition is considered "free" with no charge and is very, very reliable. The only downside of free Edtion compared to its counterpart retail is that it lacks some other features for added protection. In the version sold at retail, where you have to buy AVG Anti-Virus, you have entitled to an extra set of features that add more protection. For example, there is the Free Edition Firewall component but in the version retailed exists. Apart from the disadvantages, AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition is quiet and is very effective against viruses.
