AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition is considered "free" with no charge and is very, very reliable. The only downside of free Edtion compared to its counterpart retail is that it lacks some other features for added protection. In the version sold at retail, where you have to buy AVG Anti-Virus, you have entitled to an extra set of features that add more protection. For example, there is the Free Edition Firewall component but in the version retailed exists. Apart from the disadvantages, AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition is quiet and is very effective against viruses. It automatically scan files and folders that are being downloaded or transferred to the computer and immediately quarantined the infected files for deletion. It also comes with anti-spyware technology and other basic necessities combating viruses and worms. Believe me, it operates silently as not to interrupt their work and suddenly while working. Compare it with Norton Anti-Virus that annoys 80% of MSD, AVG Anti-Virus is interrupted only when a virus is detected. The best part is that his dictionary is as up-to-date that is almost impossible viruses to penetrate. And I'm very protective and is well versed in computer viruses.
