Do you have antivirus software work free, and those you pay?

I used to have Norton Antivirus, but my subscription expires. Is it worth paying to renew my subscription, or should I just download a free antivirus program? What some good free antivirus programs? I keep hearing about Avast and AVG?

I have used AVG Anti-Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware both murderers spyware for years. All are free for personal use and I had no problems with hackers trojans etc. I have just upgraded to AVG Free 8.0 and everything looks good so far. Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can be downloaded from http://www.download.com/ also use Windows Defender Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A / V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A / V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps
