What is the best antivirus freeware (more BQ)?

I'm looking for a better free antivirus program. Today I have AVG, but never found anything. What free antivirus program do you consider best? I would download one that starts with an A, but I can not remember BQ name.: My neighbor used to use AVG too, but reached the same conclusion that it sucks. The uninstall your AVG and Spybot to run scheduled for once a day like his usual AVG. My question is that Spybot protect a computer as an antivirus program?
