Should I buy a Mac?

I have my laptop for college about 9 months and has worked quite well. It is a principle of HP's lineup, but still has its problems (possible bad RAM card, the insane amount of space taken pre-installed programs, a Ipod corrupted file in my fear of getting constant virus / worm / malware / spyware). I do not take it anymore! I'm pretty sure that in the next couple of years I'm going to buy a Mac. Is this a good decision? Any suggestions on what type of purchase (obviously, no change in the next two years, but yet)? And most importantly, how much? Thanks guys. PS Windows is a waste of life. OK, it seems that everyone says there are pros and cons of each one. Do not plan to play many games or using a lot of software. I just want a system that does not always have to montitored errors. It seems that Windows has many of its errors, not even worth having a computer. What will work better without having to be adjusted?

As for software, there are plenty of software for the Mac by there and all the important programs such as Photoshop and Microsoft Office, you have Mac versions are compatible with PC versions. You can also run other operating systems, as Windows or Linux, if you want on the same computer. Most changes to the Mac in the next few years will be the new OS X 10.5 and higher speed dual-CPU and quad-core. If you want to stay with a laptop, of course, I recommend either the MacBook or MacBook Pro in particular.
