We have many laptops in our home. Our daughter is an Apple laptop through the school. I have a Dell Inspiron through work. Also I have a Asus 1000H netbook for me, an Acer 1410 processor SU3500 our youngest daughter, and a greater than 15 "Toshiba Satellite for my wife. I bought the 13.3" Lenovo Edge SU7300 processor as a replacement for the computer my wife. She had been complaining about poor battery life and poor WiFi signal from the Toshiba for months but did not like the small display any of the 11.6 "Acer or ASUS 10.1". She had also been complaining of pain in the wrist. This unit seemed to have the best worlds. The light weight, long battery life, nice screen, amazing keyboard, and a very reasonable price. We have not had the laptop too long, but my wife seems to like it, especially the keyboard, track point, and multi-button mouse. Build quality seems much better than the Acer, but not appears to be a slight flex in the lid opens and closes. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to perform the initial configuration. In about 30 minutes, I had WiFi setup, I had the computer will automatically find the drivers for our all-in-one HP printer (for the first time usually need CD), and had downloaded and installed Open Office, Panda Antivirus Cloud, PrevX3.0 free, McAfee SiteAdvisor, and IObit Advanced Warning System (mainly for Smart Defrag and SmartRAM). I was looking for a good laptop for a while. My requirements were: laptop lightweight (less than 1.8 kg), decent setup that can handle the Aero interface correctly Win7, 13 "screen, and of course the whole package at a decent price.
I chose not to pick up a notebook because they are too small or have weak processor. So I found myself searching the wide world portable computers. Then I heard about the new Lenovo Edge family.
Now, a month after I have this laptop that I can share this:
It is a good laptop. Yes, I've seen better looking ones, but still looks soft and elegant.
The weight is more or less what I wanted, only 1.6 kg including 6-cell battery. Battery life is approximately five hours so I could find for now.
Victory 7 (raw) function without problems, there is an HDMI connector that I plug in a full HD (1900x1080) and it looks great. The keyboard is very comfortable and easy to use.
Cons: screen resolution is a bit low for my taste and lacks a CD / DVD optical drive. It also shows a tendency to heat up a bit, but nothing that bothers you while placed in her lap.
