Spyware programs are good at detecting what?

I need some programs to remove spyware and not im surewhich are legitimate or not.

The highest rated are the SpyBot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware and SuperAntiSpyware. It usually takes a combination of several of getting rid of all adware, malware and spyware. I use Ad-Aware and SUPERAntiSpyware, but the new version of Spybot is supposed to be very good too. I'd use one or other of these two, along with Ad-Aware. Spyware Blaster is also good - just sit very quietly and kept things going in the ActiveX controls. And all are free.
